Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how we process personal data on the website selbst-stark.ch (hereinafter «platform»). We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data controller
The party responsible for data processing on this platform is:
foxstudy GmbH
Hausacherstrasse 27
8122 Binz, Switzerland
Email: info@foxstudy.ch
The selbst-stark platform is supported by the Cerebral Foundation.
2. Processing of personal data
Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable person. We only process your personal data to the extent necessary to operate the platform, or where you have given your consent.
3. Hosting and server logs
The platform is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Les Acacias (Geneva), Switzerland. Data is stored on servers located in Switzerland.
Every access to the platform automatically generates technical access data, stored in server log files (including a shortened IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser and operating system used). This data is used exclusively for technical provision, security and error analysis. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Cookies
We do not use tracking or marketing cookies. Technically necessary cookies are only used when you log in to a protected area (session and security cookies, e.g. for two-factor authentication). These are required for the platform to function and do not require consent.
5. Traffic measurement with Matomo
For statistical analysis of platform usage, we use the open-source software Matomo, which we operate ourselves on our own server (in Switzerland). No cookies are set, and your IP address is anonymised (truncated) before being stored. No data is transmitted to third parties, and no personal profile is created. For these reasons, no consent is required; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly traffic measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we process your email address and, if provided, your first name, in order to send you information about selbst-stark.
Sign-up uses a double opt-in process: after registering, you receive an email with a confirmation link. Only once you confirm do we add you to the mailing list. This ensures the sign-up genuinely comes from you. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
We use the service Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Cologne, Germany) as a processor to send these emails. Sign-up, confirmation and their timing are logged so that consent can be demonstrated. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, for example via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter email or by writing to info@foxstudy.ch. Withdrawal applies for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out until then.
7. Contact form
The contact form on our homepage lets you send us a message directly. In doing so, we process the information you enter in the form: name, email address and your message. We need this information to process your enquiry and to be able to reply to you. The legal basis is your consent, which you expressly confirm via the checkbox in the form when submitting it (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Technically, your message is sent via the same email service as our newsletter (Brevo, see points 6 and 8) to our address info@foxstudy.ch. Your email address is automatically set as the reply-to address so we can reply to you directly. To protect against automated spam submissions, the form also contains an additional field that is invisible to people (a «honeypot»); if this field is filled in, we assume the submission is automated and discard it unread, without storing it or replying.
8. Recipients and processors
To provide our services, we use carefully selected service providers who process personal data on our behalf and according to our instructions:
- Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva, Switzerland) – hosting.
- Brevo / Sendinblue GmbH (Cologne, Germany) – sending newsletter and contact-form emails.
Where data is transferred to countries outside Switzerland or the EEA, we ensure an adequate level of data protection through suitable safeguards (e.g. the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
9. Retention period
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose, or as long as legal retention obligations apply. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent. Messages sent via the contact form are retained for as long as needed to process your enquiry and any follow-up questions, and are then deleted. Server log files are automatically deleted or anonymised after a short period.
10. Your rights
Under applicable law, you have in particular the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability and the right to withdraw any consent given at any time. To exercise your rights, simply send a message to info@foxstudy.ch.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); in the EU, the relevant data protection authority.
11. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Transmission is encrypted via HTTPS.
12. Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always reflects current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services. The version published on this page at any given time applies.
